Can I have a custom design made?
Yes! If you have an idea for something special, i'd love to help bring it to life. Whether it’s native flora and fauna, a favourite animal, a coastal theme, something meaningful to your family, or an idea completely your own, I can work with you to create a custom design specifically for your garden pillar.
Because every design needs to be suitable for cutting, i’ll take your idea and develop it into artwork that works beautifully both during the day and when illuminated at night.
Get in touch through our Contact page and tell us what you have in mind.
Do I need to switch the pillar on and off?
No. Once switched on, the dusk-to-dawn controller automatically turns the lighting on when it gets dark and off again when daylight returns.
Will the steel rust?
Yes — and that’s part of the design. The heavy gauge steel is intended to naturally weather and develop a rich, individual rust patina over time. Each pillar will age slightly differently depending on its location and exposure to the elements. However apon arrival you can paint a clear coat over it to keep the raw steel look.
How is the pillar installed?
The pillar is designed for outdoor installation and can be securely fixed to a suitable base using the holes created in the mounting plate. Mounting pegs are supplied!
Does the solar panel need direct sunlight?
The solar panel is seperate from the pillar so if the pillar is in shade simply move the solar panel to the sun facing north, the panel has a 3 meter length and should be positioned where it receives good daylight, with direct sun preferably 8 hours of sun will have 12 hours of night time use.
Where are the garden pillars made?
Designed and made by Kerbbright in New Zealand. The steel pillar itself is cut, formed and finished locally by myself, while some electrical/solar components are sourced separately.
Can I leave my garden pillar outside all year round?
Yes. The pillars are designed as permanent outdoor garden features. The steel will continue to weather naturally, and the solar lighting system is designed for outdoor use.
What is the return policy?
My goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn’t the case, let me know and i’ll do my best to work with you to make it right.
